Better Choices, Better Health

The Better Choices, Better Health workshop is held for two and a half hours, once a week, for six weeks, in community settings such as senior centers, churches, libraries and community centers.  People with different ongoing health problems attend together.  Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom live with an ongoing health problem.

Topics Covered Include:

· Managing pain, fatigue, depression and frustration

· Improving and maintaining health with appropriate exercise

· Wise use of medication

· Effective communications with family, friends and health care providers

· Eating for health

· Problem Solving

· Evaluation of new  treatments

The program is designed to help people manage their health by providing the tools to cope with their symptoms and help take control of their health. There is no cost to attend the workshop.
